Seward Alaska, Home of The Fish House! Seward has a history that is long and colorful. You may have
seen the photographs of Seward after the Good Friday Earthquake of 1964
and the massive destruction it caused. Today a visitor driving or walking
through the town would never know such a catastrophic event even occurred.
This coastal community on the shores of beautiful Resurrection Bay is bustling with activity as over 60+ ocean-going cruise ships stop here to drop off their passengers and pick up those sailing back to the states. The community thrives on tourism. And one of the biggest "draws" to this area is the Great Halibut, Bottom Fish and Salmon Fishing. The harbor is full of charter boats and one of the oldest charter and booking agencies in town is Mark Clemen's "The Fish House" and sporting goods store.
Booking charters for a fleet of 60 fishing boats keep him busy all summer and that's the way he likes it.
The Fish House is located across the street from the Harbor Masters Office and provides bait, fishing tackle and marine supplies.
